just keep blending in layers. I don't usually do oil but I know in acrylic it's hard to do a smooth transition due to the paint drying so fast- thus oil should be easier... you'll get the hang of it. Also, shouldn't this be in traditional art because you painted it?

One thing that you notice almost immediately is that the Iris isn't round, it has a weird bulge just in the reflection. On the hairs it is like they lie on top of the skin, yet if you look at an eye you can see they kinda come from underneath the eyelid, so I'd say do the hairs first and then cover it up with a bit of skin. You've used quite a bit of blue in the hairs too, I'd recommend using a darker shade of blue or just using it to a lesser extend. Overall this is a very nice first go at it.
